What Is EU Settlement Scheme?
The EU Settlement Scheme allows EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens living in the UK to apply for settled or pre-settled status to continue living and working in the UK after Brexit. This scheme ensures that you can remain in the UK with the same rights you had before the UK’s departure from the EU.
Who Can Apply?
You can apply for the EU Settlement Scheme if you are: An EU, EEA, or Swiss citizen: Living in the UK before the end of the transition period (31 December 2020). A family member of an EU, EEA, or Swiss citizen: You may also be eligible if you are a close family member. Settled vs. Pre-Settled Status: Settled Status: For those who have lived in the UK for a continuous period of 5 years or more. Pre-Settled Status: For those who have lived in the UK for less than 5 years. You can apply for settled status once you have reached 5 years of continuous residence.
